How our world was shaped; a cross-disciplinary look at Britain´s 19th century.

The world we live in is often too easily taken for granted. Therefore a closer look at how things came about is in place and appears to be truly fascinating. In this lecture we will look  at Britain’s Industrial Revolution with the help of some natural resources & some clever folks. The world changed for good, but not everybody was enchanted…

Minibio:

Dr. Johan van Wijk has been a senior lecturer at Driestar University for Teacher Education in Gouda, The Netherlands for 29 years. He is also a teacher of English at Driestar College, a large comprehensive school in Gouda. At the university he lectures in contemporary British and American literature. His main interest is in Irish and American Jewish literature on which he has also published. Until 2014 he was associate professor in Applied Linguistics at Driestar University.
