Thanks to the English Department of Partium Christian University and PTDK (the PCU Students’ Conference) I had the chance to visit London between the 20th and 24th September. It was an amazing journey with amazing people. Our teachers were more than helpful in showing us around the most important and beautiful places in London. An exciting event was to “see” the changing of the guards’ ceremony (I used quotation marks because we could barely see them due to the crowd, still it was a wonderful experience). Another interesting location we have visited was China Town. I find it fascinating how lovely that place is made. If anyone has the chance to visit that place should never miss to enter the noodle bar we have been in. Best. Dinner. Ever!!! Our hunger for culture was satisfied too, we have been in the British Museum. There we were able to take a look on local and other culture’s ancient objects like: vases, masks, paintings, even an illustration of a Korean hanok. Before the last day we could visit the National Gallery, which was stunning. The most memorable pictures for me were Hans Holbein’s The Ambassadors and Joseph Wright of Derby’s An Experiment on a Bird in the Air Pump. The last day was dedicated to rest, so we took long walks in Green Park, where we could feed all kind of animals: squirrels, ducks, pigeons, swans, the braver ones even pet the swans. It was an unbelievable journey, I could only recommend everyone to do their best and sign up for PTDK! :D
