Narratives of Displacement – A Conference Experience

On 28-29 October 2017 Dr. Dan Popescu Horatiu and dr. Titus Pop attended the international  conference  Narratives of Displacement: Places of (Non)-Belonging: Postcolonialism, Nomadism and Alterity co-organised by London Centre of Interdisciplinary Research and  the Interdisciplinary Research Foundation and held at Birkbeck College, University of London.

Dan Popescu Horatiu presented the paper entitled Do you Discuss Nomads on Your Afternoon Walks?, his latest research on one of  Patrick Leigh Fermor ‘s traveloques. Titus Pop exposed his comparative approach of two postcolonial poets in his paper Expressing Trauma in Caribbean Poetry: Derek Walcott’s and Linton Kwesi Johnson’s Creole Poetry.

This event marks the outset of a prospective partnership between London Centre of Interdisciplinary Research and our department which will co-organise a workshop in London in March 2018.
